A center of creation and artistic innovation, the school also strengthens and expands every year its role as a hub for research and development in the circus arts, following (or in accordance to) its mission statement. In 2012, the School received five research grants from different agencies and ministries of the governments of Quebec and Canada for various projects.
In a noteworthy decision, the Canadian Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council awarded the school a Chair for industrial research in colleges for circus arts. Patrice Aubertin, director of research and pedagogical training for the school, was named Chairholder.
The school currently devotes the entirety of its research funding to the development of projects falling within its six priority research areas.
