Benefit Evening 2009
Turning Passion into Daring...

THANK YOU!

Over 222 000 $ in record proceeds raised!

The Foundation Benefit Evening celebrating the next generation of circus artists was held on June 9 at the TOHU, Cité des arts du cirque. With Honorary Chair Normand Legault, President and CEO of CPF1 Canada, presiding over the event, a full house of over 800 guests gathered together in a spectacular evening that raised over 222 000 $ in record proceeds for the benefit of the National Circus School and its students.

The evening kicked off with a special tribute to Cirque du Soleil’s 25th anniversary. Daniel Lamarre, President and Chief Executive Officer, was present for the ceremony and through the magic of video technology Cirque du Soleil Founder, Guy Laliberté, thanked the crowd and lended his encouragement to the National Circus School and its up-and-coming artists.

The ceremony was followed by the Annual Show with the School’s students and graduates dazzling the crowd with their daring virtuosity and creativity. Thanks to the generosity of donors and partners, the School’s young artists were able to showcase their talent in a mesmerizing production. The Show, Rosso di Sera directed by Veronica Melis, transported the crowd into a magical world of poetry and imagination. This professional experience was especially important for the 21 graduates before they took on the big tops around the world.

The Foundation Benefit Evening is essential to providing students indispensable experiences like these and proceeds go towards supporting the NSC Annual Show and complete program of public performance activities.

The Foundation extends its deep thanks to Evening sponsors, donors and volunteers!
